Since founding ECC in 1988, Niall has become one of the leading international advisors on energy contracts, markets and pricing.
During his extensive period in the industry, Niall has gained considerable experience in a lead role delivering the commercial agreements, analysis and advice required by clients on energy projects worldwide. He has particular expertise in analysing the development of energy markets, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, and acting as an expert witness in contract disputes and planning inquiries.
Previous employers include; Trafalgar House Oil & Gas, British Gas plc, BNOC, State of Alaska USA, University of Aberdeen
Since 2010 he has advised EAC, the power company in Cyprus on the negotiation of gas and LNG purchase contracts. This includes the successful negotiation of an LNG SPA with Shell in 2010.
Since 2007 he has negotiated twelve medium term gas sales agreements for North Sea gas producers including; Dyas, Petrofac, Sterling Resources, Hansa Hydrocarbons, Serica Energy, Fairfield and Edinburgh Oil and Gas.
In the last three years he has also worked on the drafting and negotiation of LNG purchase contracts for the Malta LNG import project and for the chemical company Achema, one of the largest gas users in Europe.
Recently he assisted Serica Energy by carrying out due diligence on their purchase of the Erskine asset from BP.
In 2014/15 he worked as an expert witness, on behalf of Union Fenosa Gas, in their dispute with the Egyptian state gas company EGAS over non-payment of toll or pay charges for use of the Damietta LNG plant.
