Sean Long is an associate consultant at The Energy Contract Company and has over 12 years of experience in the energy sector, concentrating on project finance transactions for energy and infrastructure projects representing sponsors, financial institutions and contractors, negotiated with lenders and advised investors in all aspects of energy project acquisition, dispositions, joint ventures and project development, including:
- Storage and transportation capacity sales
- Gas, oil, coal and alternative fuel power generation
- Gas and liquids pipeline arrangements
- Oil refining and petrochemical facilities
- Water supply and desalinization facilities
Sean founded and serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the board of Exodus Energy LLC, a Houston based privately held power and natural gas specialist consulting and development firm since July 2001. Exodus Energy LLC is a global partner with The Energy Contract Company.
Whilst at Exodus, Mr. Long has worked with and advised such firms as GE Capital, BP Global Power Group, ArcLight Capital Partners, and Northland Power Income fund on the acquisition of energy assets and other matters. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Long served as Senior Vice President and Head of Africa with Enron International overseeing Enron's activities in the region. From 1997-1999, Mr. Long served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Enron International responsible for, among other things, all international acquisitions and privatization efforts of Enron. Mr. Long joined Enron International in 1995 as senior counsel in the legal group where Mr. Long worked on major international transactions in dozens of countries in Asia, the Americas, Europe and Africa.
Prior to joining Enron, from 1993 to 1995, Sean was a mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and project finance associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in the New York and Houston offices. From 1987 to 1990, Sean also served as an Officer in the United States Army retiring as a Captain. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1987 and later earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1993.
