Until 2000 he was a Senior Vice President of Enron International, responsible for the Asian LNG business of Enron. In that role he was successful in a number of developments, fully responsible for all aspects of these projects, including the contractual arrangements. He also worked on several power and gas acquisition opportunities in his career with Enron International.

Prior to joining Enron in 1992, Anthony had a successful, 16-year career with Amoco Production Co, working in Europe, Egypt, the USA and other international operations. As part of this career, he instigated and completed a number of gas field developments, based upon extensive contractual negotiation. The most major of these was the development of the Everest & Lomond gas fields to supply the Teesside IPP. This $2.1 billion project was, at the time, the largest single development undertaken by Amoco Production Co. He was later responsible for the sale of natural gas in USA produced by Amoco.
