Expert Services and Dispute Resolution
ECC’s highly experienced team regularly acts as an Expert in dispute resolution and provides Expert testimony, advice and litigation support on many areas of the energy and power industry. Some of the recent assignments of the Executive Directors of The Energy Contract Company have included:
- Anthony Way has been appointed as Expert on the Arbitration Council of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in the resolution of a contractual dispute of substantial value in the European gas industry. This multi-million Euro dispute arose from the Price Review provisions of one of the largest gas supply contracts in Europe. Anthony Way acted as Expert to the Arbitration.
- Anthony Way acted as as an Expert adviser on a major trans-continental oil pipeline dispute in Eastern Europe. This dispute went into Arbitration in the London Court of Internaitonal Arbitration under UNICITRAL rules, and Anthony Way acted as Expert Adviser to the defence.
- Expert Advice to a US oil major in regards to a Scandinavian pricing dispute. David McGough acted as an Expert Advisor to a pricing dispute arbitration concerning competition issues related to gas market pricing in Europe.
- Anthony Way has acted as an Expert Advisor to a major German utility for many years on its portfolio of European gas supply contracts and the Price Review under each contract. This advice relates to the Price Review every three years under multiple supply contracts and Anthony Way provides Expert advice during negotiated and determined settlements.
- Expert advice for a Price Dispute Arbitration in SE Asia relating to gas supply to a petrochemical facility. This dispute was handled by Expert Arbitration in the Hague and Anthony Way acted as an Expert Advisor to the major Asian oil and gas company involved.
